Thank you to our Alumni, parents and friends
Christopher Newport University’s dramatic transformation of the last decade is because of people. People with a vision and a commitment to excellence. People willing to work hard and take risks. People who believe that impossible is not an option. And people who are willing to financially invest in the University’s future.
Every person is important and has helped make CNU one of America’s pre-eminent liberal arts universities with successes that include: 46 percent increase in freshman applications, improved grade point averages and SAT scores, new faculty members, a $400 million building campaign nearing completion, increased international study opportunities and the Ferguson Center for the Arts hosting more than 80,000 people at performances in its inaugural season.
CNU is recognized and respected statewide for the amazing accomplishments that it has achieved in such a short period of time. Every person who has been involved deserves part of the recognition and credit for the successes.
I would like to express a very special thank you to those who give their financial support to the University. These generous and caring individuals, corporations and foundations make it possible to do more for students, faculty and academic programming.
Your financial support makes it possible:
None of these opportunities and the many more available to CNU students would be possible without the financial support of our dedicated Alumni, parents and friends. You make a difference in the lives of students and faculty every day with your generous contributions.
Thank you doesn’t seem adequate to express the enormous debt of gratitude and appreciation that is due to all of the Alumni, parents and friends who have made possible the University’s dramatic transformation of the past decade, and who continue to ensure the University’s future.
So, on behalf of everyone at CNU, we dedicate this issue of the CNU Alumni Magazine to our Alumni, parents and friends who make this University an outstanding place to learn, work and live.
